Sports Minister Praises Organization of Worlds-2014 in Chelyabinsk

The Russian Sports Minister Mr. Vitaly Mutko has highly appreciated the level of the 2014 World Judo Championships, organizers’ efforts and hospitality of Chelyabinsk citizens.

“I think that the championships are being held at the highest level. All conditions have been created for athletes and press. There is a wonderful festival atmosphere in the city. The stands are full,” says Vitaly Mutko.

Sports Minister advises not to pay much attention to the lack of gold medals, but to be content with 8 silver and bronze medals. “We always want more. But here our team has performed just great, we have 8 medals! We have all chances to win at the Olympics,” adds Mutko.

To recap, Russia has gained 8 medals in the individual tournament of the Worlds-2014. Two silver medals have been won by Beslan Mudranov (–60kg) and Mikhail Pulyayev  (–66kg), six bronze medals have been earned by Natalia Kuziutina (–52kg), Kamal Khan-Magomedov (–66kg), Musa Mogushkov (–73kg), Ivan Nifontov (–81kg), Kirill Voprosov (–90kg), and Renat Saidov (+100kg).
