Chelyabinsk Passes IJF Flag to Astana

Chelyabinsk  (Russia) has passed the flag of the International Judo Federation to the host of the 2015 World Judo Championships – Astana (Kazakhstan).

Today, on August 31st, the last day of the Worlds-2014 the  IJF Flag Handover Ceremony took place in the Traktor Arena. The President of the Russian Judo Federation Vasily Anisimov passed the flag to the President of the IJF Marius Vizer, and Mr. Vizer presented the flag to the President of the Kazakh Judo Federation Kenges Rakishev. 

“It’s a great responsibility to hold the World Championships in Astana. I’m grateful for this festival to the Russian organizers. We see a high level of preparedness here, and we have to make the same event in Kazakhstan. So welcome to Astana!” Kenges Rakishev says.

To recap, Chelyabinsk received the IJF flag at the Worlds-2013 that was held in Rio de Janeiro. Kazakhstan's capital Astana will be the host of the Worlds-2015.
